Why is Wyoming the Equality State?

Did you know the Wyoming is nicknamed the equality state? 

For good reason Wyoming is called the 'Equality State', they were on the cutting edge of promoting and Wyoming was the first territory to grant "female suffrage" ( suffrage means the right to vote in political elections).

1869 Wyoming became the first state to allow women to vote! As a woman born in Wyoming this is something cool to me. They say the only reason Wyoming did this and it may be true, was that Wyoming needed more citizens to vote so the intentions may not have been the best but anyhow it started a domino effect which made the way for many other states to allow women vote.
