The elements are there, but the shoe lacks the pizzazz that we were hoping for.

How cool would it be to have a shoe that represents your state? Every where you walk, people would see where your roots lie just by looking at your feet. It's almost poetic.

That's what Adidas set out to do recently.

Teaming up with Refinery29, the popular shoe company enlisted the help of several female artists to design shoes inspired by each of our 50 states. These 12 women painted and decorated Adidas' Ultraboot X sneakers and then auctioned them off online to raise money for Women Win. The charity is dedicated to advancing women's leadership.

Let me ask this question first... What you would put on a shoe designed for Wyoming? I'd play up the fact that we are the Cowboy state, add in some killer sunsets that we see here, maybe lasso laces and turn the top of the shoe (where your foot goes in) into Devil's Tower.

Here's what they came up with:

I'm not trying to bash their concept whatsoever. There is some Wyoming in there. The artist says she was inspired by "the state gems and stones" which gives us a nephrite jade shoe. Wyoming has so much to offer visually with our scenic areas, wildlife and cowboy lifestyle. It feels like a missed opportunity.

Of course, art is up for interpretation so maybe I need to chill out.

But look at the other state shoes! When you look at other designs, Georgia looks like an actual peach, New Jersey has a slice of pizza added to it, and Kentucky looks like a scene straight out of the derby.

Heck, I would have settled for a giant buffalo!
