‘Friends of Hogadon’ Seek Funding For Night Skiing-Snowboarding Project
There is a new project in the works to bring night time skiing and snowboarding to Hogadon Bason Ski Area.
The proposed project would extend the hours of operation from 4:00 pm to 8:00pm, Wednesday through Saturday. Currently, Hogadon is only open Wednesdays through Sundays, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, for day skiing only.
According to the official Friends of Hogadon website:
The “Hogadon Night Skiing-Snowboarding Project” was birthed from the desire to see many more people, especially the youth in our area, get involved in skiing & snowboarding at Hogadon! The project will bring lighting to two of Hogadon's premier runs, Park Avenue and Boomerang, for night skiing. The lighting infrastructure will also include lights on Bunny, our beginner slope, as well as the chairlift and a portion of the parking lot.
With night skiing & snowboarding, we plan to extend the hours of operation at Hogadon into the evenings, from 4:00 pm to 8:00pm, Wednesdays through Saturdays. By extending the hours into the evenings, it will give our community more opportunity to get involved in ski & snowboarding lessons, ski racing and free-skiing throughout the week, when it’s most convenient for them. Night skiing & snowboarding would provide a great place for friends to meet after work, to enjoy the slopes and have dinner at our new lodge! Currently, Hogadon Ski Basin is open Wednesdays through Sundays, 9am to 4pm, for day skiing only.
