It may only be the first part of October, but it's never too early to start thinking about Christmas shopping. Especially when you're talking about the Casper area Shop with a Cop program.

The application period just started with the deadline to enter being November 17th, 2023.

Every year the Natrona County Sheriff's Office, Casper PD, Mills PD, Evansville PD and Wyoming Highway Patrol, jump into action and head to Walmart to go shopping with kids from around Natrona County.

Our Agencies strive to make this a positive experience for the children. In partnership with both Walmart Stores in Casper, children in need are able to purchase gifts for Christmas, including ones for themselves as well as other family members.
The application deadline is November 17th at 5 pm, and family notifications will begin the week of November 27th. Families can fill out the application online and drop it off at a participating agency’s office. Applications will be accepted at all Natrona County Law Enforcement Agencies and participating agencies to include the Midwest Police Department, Wyoming Game and Fish, Natrona County Airport, and US Customs.

The application process is simple.

Fill out an application and submit it online. Another option is to print the application, fill it out and return to a Natrona County Law Enforcement Agency, the Wyoming Game and Fish Department, Wyoming Highway Patrol, Natrona County Airport or US Customs.

Applications can also be mailed to:

Casper Police Department
Victim Services
201 N, David, 1st Floor
Casper, WY 82601

Applications are due by November 17th, that's when a committee will begin the selection process, by going through every application submitted. The committee will carefully go over the information provided and then choose the children that get to spend time shopping with a cop.

This program is a great way to give back to the community and give kids a cool opportunity to spend time with a law enforcement agent and have a Christmas they may not have had otherwise.

If you'd like to fill out an application to help your kids out, you can fill out the online version HERE or print out a copy, fill it out and return to a Natrona County Law Enforcement Agency HERE.
