1 Killed, 1 Injured in Rollover Crash North of Gillette

The Wyoming Highway Patrol says speed and driver fatigue may be to blame for a single-vehicle rollover crash that left a Wyoming driver dead and his passenger injured.

The crash happened around 11:31 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13 at milepost 165.6 on Wyoming 59, north of Gillette near the Wyoming-Montana line.

According to a fatality crash summary, 45-year-old Jeffrey Lindsey was behind the wheel of a northbound GMC Sierra when he went off the right-hand side of the highway, overcorrected, slid off the left-hand side of the highway, and rolled the pickup two times.

Lindsey was not wearing his seat belt and died from his injuries.

His passenger was also reportedly injured in the crash, but the Patrol didn't say to what extent.

Lindsey is the 83rd reported person to die on Wyoming's highways this year.
