Turns Out Psy Was in ‘Empire Strikes Back’ All Along
As hardcore ‘Star Wars’ fans, we’ve probably seen ‘The Empire Strikes Back’ 100 times. But this is the first time we’ve ever noticed a cameo by Korean ‘Gangnam Style’ rapper Psy. Were we sleeping during that part?
Okay, okay. So, Psy doesn’t really appear in ‘Empire.’ Instead, this is a clever edit of a scene that takes place on Bespin’s Cloud City where Luke Skywalker confronts Darth Vader.
In the original, Luke peers around a corner and spies bounty hunter Boba Fett with captive Leia, Chewbacca and C-3PO in tow. But here, he witnesses Psy prancing through the halls doing his horsey dance instead. Regrettably, Luke doesn’t seem to use his blaster when he has the chance.
Yes, it’s a silly cameo. But it’s really not that farfetched when you think about it. After all, Psy and his monster hit are literally everywhere these days. Who’s to say he also can’t time travel and insert himself into old movies?
What classic movie would you like to see Psy appear in next?
