People don't necessarily want to look like that dog filter, but it's pretty close to that level.

Have you ever watched the show "Botched" on Bravo? It's about these celebrity plastic surgeons (and Real Housewives of the OC husbands) fixing botched plastic surgeries. There are some real sob stories here as people come in with horrible issues that then get fixed. *grab some tissues* And then there are others who come in wanting to look like a Barbie/Ken doll or a fantasy character.

Or in this case, their favorite Snapchat filter.

According to the JAMA Facial Plastic Surgery journal, there's a new trend in Snapchat filter requests. There are people who are obsessed with the way they look in those filters that they are willing to do whatever it takes and spend any dollar amount to make it happen. From shrinking chins and noses to widening eyes to anime proportions.

Doctors are publishing warnings about this "Snapchat dysmorphia."

One doctor even called these filters and selfies "portable funhouse mirrors." I couldn't agree more. It's sad to see people belittle the way they look in real life all because of some fake filter on social media.

Trust me, the sooner you start loving who you are and the features you have, the happier your life will be.
