Solange Knowles to Play Diana Ross in Supremes Biopic?

The word on the street is, Solange Knowles is going to play Diana Ross in a new biopic about Supremes co-founder Florence Ballard.

Knowles, who has flexed her acting muscles before in films like ‘Bring It On: All Or Nothing’ and shows like ‘The Ghost Whisperer,’ is rumored to be playing Diana Ross in a film about Ballard’s life. Florence Ballard, a co-founder of The Supremes, died of heart failure at the age of 32.

There aren’t a lot of details about the project, but the film is currently in production and Ballard’s daughter, Michele Ballard-Chapman, is co-producing.

Funny enough, Solange’s older sister, Beyonce, played Deena Jones, a character allegedly inspired by Diana Ross, in the 2006 Oscar-winning movie ‘Dreamgirls.’
