When Wyoming Hands You Snow, Turn It Into Ice Cream!
Scoop up some snow, along with some pantry staples, and you've got yourself a bowl of ice cream.
I don't know many people who don't love ice cream. A bowl of chocolate ice cream is pretty much heaven on earth for me and honestly, it's never too cold to enjoy a scoop... or four. Luckily for us, we have ample opportunity to make our own ice cream here in the Cowboy state because we have ample amounts of snow.
Call it wishful thinking or a moment of brilliance, but you can actually make ice cream from that powdery stuff right outside your door.
Delish posted a simple "snow" cream recipe on their website and it may be a far cry from the tradition ice cream that you can find at the store, but it's worth a try. All you need is a bowl of the powder (snow), sweetened condensed milk, vanilla and sugar. Mix all of these ingredients in a bowl until they reach an ice cream-like consistency. Delish says you can eat it just like that, but I recommend popping it in the freezer for a bit. That way it will hopefully set up more like ice cream.
It's worth a shot, in my opinion, for the sweetened condensed milk alone. That stuff is liquid gold. Who wants to try it with me?
