Four people hospitalized and another seven were evaluated for injuries at the scene of a nine-vehicle crash late Saturday on Interstate 80 in southwest Wyoming.

According to Uinta County Fire and Ambulance, the crash occurred at roughly 9:35 p.m. near milepost 48 in the westbound lanes of I-80. The road surface was extremely icy at the time.

The emergency response included five fire trucks and three ambulances.

Six commercial trucks, two passenger vehicles and a moving van were involved in the crash. Traffic was diverted off at exit 48.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
