The pronunciation of the word "crayon" is as colorful as the masterpiece you create with it.

It's back to school season and it's one of my favorite times of the year. Not because I'm going back to school or that I even have kids that are anticipating a new year. I find myself being filled with memories of the excitement I felt at this time of year. It's nostalgic.

I also love office supplies and there are a gazillion displays of supplies in every store at this time of year.

This time of year also sparks a debate over one of the supplies you typically find on a back-to-school list. This colored wax is a tool used to create works of art. It's a "crayon" and I've heard many pronunciations of this word.

Don't you think it's time to settle the score?

Maybe it's a regional thing. Or maybe it's that dang letter "y" in the middle of the word that throws us off. Either way, which pronunciation do you believe is correct? If you select "other" please comment below with your pronunciation.
