It's not 100% confirmed yet, but looking promising that ABC's hit show "Modern Family" may be shooting the premiere of their 3rd season right here in the Cowboy state.  According to the Jackson Hole News & Guide, Jackson Hole has been on a huge campaign lately to lure them to Wyoming - and it may have worked.

Official network approval from ABC is pending, but the premiere of season 3 could have the characters on a family vacation at Lost Creek Ranch.  Apparently, Jackson Hole was given early consideration - then rejected - then picked as the favorite location last week.  A big factor was a huge effort on behalf of the community, in addition to a committment of public lodging tax funds.

Snow King Resort has stepped up to offer the large block of rooms that the producers would need during August's busy tourism season - at a discount.  Community boosters, a local dude ranch owner, the Wyoming Department of Travel & Tourism, and even Governor Matt Mead have all stepped in to help lobby ABC - and a final decision is expected soon.

Other locations in the running were Tucson, Bozeman, and Steamboat Springs - if selected, ABC crews would start flocking to Jackson in the first week of August to start shooting for the show, which would air in September.
