Throwback Thursday: Beastie Boys [VIDEO]
This weeks Throwback Thursday we spotlight Brooklyn's own, Beastie Boys. The trio of Mike D, Ad-Rock and the late MCA actually started out as a punk rock band. After the success of "Cooky Puss", their first official rap song, which was based on a prank phone call, the group started incorporating rap in all their music and hired a DJ, the future founder of Def Jam Records, Rick Rubin.
30 years and 40 million world-wide records sold later, the Beastie Boys are one of the best selling Hip-Hop acts of all time. Here's to making history fellas!!!
