For this week's Throwback Thursday, we go back to the 2000 and the alternative rock group, Wheatus and their smash hit single, Teenage Dirtbag.

I have to thank channels like MTV (when they actually played full music videos) and The Box for introducing me to other genres of music outside of Hip-Hop and R&B. That's how I lucked upon the video for Teenage Dirtbag which featured Jason Biggs and the never-aging Mena Suvari. The videos theme was pretty much based on the movie Loser which starred Biggs and Suvari. I liked the bare-bones, garage band sounding nature of the song. I also really enjoyed the story that went along with it. Even just hearing the song without the video, you can picture each step. It really makes you miss the storytelling that's been lacking in the majority of today's music.

Wheatus has seen quite a few line-up changes and even some label issues over the years, but since One Direction started covering the song on their last tour, Teenage Dirtbag has hit the UK Billboard charts again. Go boy bands!!!
