I must admit that I didn't realize that this was a thing, but there's a new health alert for Casper chicken owners that warns it's dangerous to kiss them. Ahem.

It's true. There's a new statement from the Centers for Disease Control. It's called "Outbreaks of Salmonella Infections Linked to Backyard Poultry". Just so you don't think I'm making this up, here are the exact words from the CDC alert:

Don’t kiss backyard poultry or snuggle them and then touch your face or mouth.

Do you kiss your chickens? This really happens apparently. Check out this guy who was told by his friends that he'd get more eggs from his chickens if he kissed them. Really.

If you do this, you take the chance of contracting salmonella, but hey, knock yourself out if you're determined to plant a wet one on Foghorn Leghorn. Just don't say we didn't warn you.
