Although the Detroit Tigers lost to the San Francisco Giants in the World Series on Sunday (Oct. 28), Eminem has launched his own winning cap — the “Eminem Baseball Tribute Champ Hat.”

The limited-edition baseball cap, available at Em’s official website, boasts commemorative years of the D-Town rapper’s “landmark solo albums” from 1996 through 2012. One of the yearly dates listed is 2013, which hints that Eminem will return with a follow-up LP to his 2010 album ‘Recovery.’

The navy-colored snapback itself features the backward letter “E” mimicking the Detroit Tigers logo. The cap is priced at $30 and a portion of the proceeds will go to the Marshall Mathers Foundation, which assists needy families in Michigan.

This is good news for Em fans who were hoping for some new music from the Grammy-winning rhyme-slinger. We reported back in the summer that Eminem was working on his eighth album in Detroit. While details are scarce, what we do know is that veteran hit-makers No I.D., Swizz Beatz and Dr. Dre are contributing beats to the project. After working with Dre for several years on his solo projects, Em knows what it takes to make a solid rap album. “All of Dre’s little tricks, I’ve stolen [them] over the years,” he says. “It’s about making songs now, trying to take that next step.”

It’s looks like 2013 is shaping up to be a big year for Slim Shady.
