STUDY: Jackson’s Wealthy Make 132 Times the Average Salary

Jackson has become well-known for being a favorite hub for the rich and famous. But, did you know a new study states it has the largest gap between the wealthy and average Americans in the entire country.

There's a good read on Business Insider from one of their writers who decided to spend time in Jackson after seeing an Economic Policy Institute report that showed it had the largest gap between the rich and average Jackson residents in America.

Here is a staggering fact from that EPI report:

The top 1 percent of families in the U.S. earned, on average, 26.3 times as much income as the bottom 99 percent.

Guess what the difference is in Jackson. The rich there make 132 TIMES MORE than average Jackson residents. That's the largest gap in the US.

According to the report, the average person in Jackson makes a pretty penny with a salary of $122,447. (By the way, that's double the average Wyoming worker wage) The average top 1% resident in Jackson makes a shocking $16,161,955.

There is a happy side of this story. The Business Insider writer found the town to be a very nice place to visit that didn't display the incredible inequality that the stats show.
