Throwback Thursday: Smilez & Southstar [VIDEO]

For this week's Throwback Thursday video, we take it back to 2003 with Smilez & Southstar. The Orlando based duo has been M.I.A. in the mainstream since about 2005, but their hit single, Tell Me, did hit the Billboard charts in 3 separate categories.

Smilez & Southstar were different with their Hip-Hop style as they didn't rap about the usual drugs and other innuendo that's become so popular in the genre, which might be why the didn't last. Regardless, their swagger and lyricism (not to mention their battle rap background), made them a nice change in the norm. They still do the underground Hip-Hop scene, so here's to a hopeful comeback soon!
