Watch Kesha Perform ‘Die Young’ + ‘We R Who We R’ Live on ‘TODAY’
Kesha's 'Warrior' album is due out next month, and to celebrate, the pop star appeared on 'TODAY' to perform her latest single, 'Die Young.'
The 25-year-old braved 40-degree weather in New York's Rockefeller Plaza, dressed in an embellished one-piece, a camouflage jacket, tights and knee-high boots. In a short interview, the star opened up about why it was important to let her singing voice be heard on her forthcoming LP.
"It was really important for me on this record to sing, because I really can sing," she said. Kesha, who is known for her Auto-tuned dance tracks, added that she was disappointed when she heard the criticism of her voice. "I got, like, bummed out when I heard that, and so I really wanted to show people I can sing. It's one of the few things I can do."
The avid animal activist performed 'Die Young' with the help of several back-up dancers, who donned warrior-like face paint. Kesha also performed 'We R Who We R' from her 2010 EP 'Cannibal.'
While 'Warrior' is due out on Dec. 4, Kesha has more to be excited about. Her illustrated memoir, 'My Crazy Beautiful Life,' was released today (Nov. 20).
