10 Artists Who Light Wyoming’s Fire Based on This Heat Map

There may be a ton of fire restrictions in Wyoming, but these artists are definitely heating things up!

Not too long ago my husband and I went to a 311 concert. This was a bucket list item for him since he loved their music growing up. I, on the other hand, could only recognize one song. Maybe it's the slight age difference between the two of us, but I think it's more based on the fact that we grew up in two different regions of the US. I say that because one of my girlfriends who grew up in Texas freaked out when she found out we were going to the show. I grew up in California, hubby grew up in Texas.

My theory is that music or artists are bigger in some regions compared to others.

Thanks to YouTube, we now know there is some truth to that. The New York Times recently looked to YouTube and their geocoded streaming data to create heat maps from some of the biggest artists out there. Turns out some artists are burning hot in some regions and flickering in others.

Twenty One Pilots

This duo from Ohio has definitely created quite a following in the Cowboy State. Their appeal is pretty evenly distributed across the state and is a part of a major hot spot region for 21P.

Eminem

Another strong contender in Wyoming is Eminem. He most popular in central Wyoming and toward the north, but it doesn't look like many people aren't a fan.

Jason Derulo

If there was ever a question as to why Jason Derulo played at Cheyenne Frontier Days, this answers it. Jason is very well-liked in the Cowboy state with the majority of the state jumping on his bandwagon.

Katy Perry

California gurl? More like Wyoming transplant. Although most popular in Utah, Katy Perry has some serious pull in the Cowboy state.

Taylor Swift

I was surprised the entire map wasn't purple for Taylor Swift, but it was pretty concentrated in our region. Central and west Wyoming are most pumped about this girl born in 1989.

Meghan Trainor

She's all about that bass and central Wyoming is all about that Meg. Much like Taylor, this fellow blonde has some pull in the west too.

Shawn Mendes

He must be treating west Wyoming better than the rest of the state as they are head over heels for Shawn Mendes.

Panic! at the Disco

It's not all pop music as this alternative crew is well-like across the board. Their strongest numbers are toward the west and the middle of the state.

Imagine Dragons

These guys have made us believers! Our region is on fire for these guys and Wyoming is crushing hard on them.

Coldplay

I had to give these guys a bone. Although their colors are super strong in Wyoming, there is a niche group on the western border that is burning hot for Chris Martin and company.
