Thanksgiving will be here before you know it - and one of our favorite things about the holiday is the glorious amount of food that hits the table, all those special dishes that seem to come around only once a year. However, for many Casper families - even the basic pantry staples are in short supply - not just around the holidays, but all year round. That's where you come in, at our annual "Birds and Bucks" Holiday Food Drive, happening Friday, November 21.

We'll be live at Albertson's East, Albertson's West and also Smith's on CY - from 7am 'til 7pm that day - asking you for two things to help.  Frozen turkeys, for our local food pantries and families who can make good use of them this Thanksgiving - and cash contributions, which can stretch farther and buy the precise foods each of our participating charities and agencies need most to help feed Casper's hungry.

All Casper Hilltop National Bank branches will be accepting cash and check donations as well.(No food drop offs)

As always, our friends at Wyoming Food For Thought Project are helping organize and staff this large endeavor - and we'll be splitting your generosity among several local organizations, which means the need is large.  This year, we're working with Holy Cross Food Bank, Faith Assembly Food Pantry, Mountain View Baptist Church Food Pantry, the Central Wyoming Rescue Mission, Poverty Resistance Food Pantry, Restoration Food Pantry, the Evansville Baptist Church, and more to be announced as they confirm holiday needs.

Some Casper families are making tough decisions this time of year on things several of us take for granted - to keep the lights and heat on, gas in the car, or food on the table?  We remind you that while we tend to think of those less fortunate around the holidays, hunger in Casper is a 365 day a year problem - and hope that you'll think of these local agencies and charities not only when "Birds and Bucks" comes around - but all year long.

Every year, we're humbled by your generosity - and we thank you in advance for helping the cause this year, and hope you'll help spread the word so we can assist as many people as possible. See you November 21!
