This has been a major topic on social media throughout the summer. The question: "Do you let your dog kiss you on the mouth?"

We recently asked you, the Casper faithful, what your thoughts were on the subject and the majority of those polled, roughly about 85%, gave a resounding no.

While we understand wanting to show your fur babies all the love and affection in the world, there are quite a few reasons you really should not let your dog lick you in the face or mouth area. According to The Dog People website, www.rover.com, here are the top three reasons:

  • You Don’t Know Where That Mouth Has Been
  • Certain Bacteria Doe Not Translate Well
  • Parasites Are Real

As a former dog owner and pet enthusiast, but also a confessed germaphobe, I rarely eat/drink after my own children, so there's no way I'm letting a dog.
