A Bar Nunn man pleaded guilty to one count of auto burglary in Natrona County District Court today.

Joshua Bland, who was 33 when arrested, changed his not guilty plea during a hearing before District Court Judge Thomas Sullins.

In exchange for the plea Assistant District Attorney Dan Itzen said the state would drop a second felony count of receiving stolen property.

Itzen and Bland's defense attorney Hampton Young also agreed that Bland would not serve any prison time but instead would be placed on five years of supervised probation.

Sullins will defer its acceptance of the plea until after he has seen the presentence investigation report. A sentencing date has not been set.

During the plea, Bland said he entered a vehicle on Prairie Lane and stole a yellow strap.

He is free on a $5,000 bond.

The case began in mid-March when the Natrona County Sheriff’s Office received reports of 14 separate automobile burglaries in the Bar Nunn area.

In one case, about $5,800 of “Magic the Gathering” playing cards were taken, and Bland tried to sell some of them at a store that specializes in such collectables.

Investigators traced the playing cards to Bland.
