There are many unwritten rules to dating. For instance, when is it okay to fart in front of your partner or when is it okay to drop the "L-word"? But at what point in a relationship do couples leave there smartphones unlocked? Probably even more of a question is when is it okay for your significant other to look through said device without permission?

Now it's a no-brainer that if you're married or have been in a seriously committed relationship for years that there should be no secrets between partners (digital or otherwise), but again, how long does it take to get to that point and how does this even get initiated?
