Yeah, I'm on the side of the fence that thinks American Idol's best days are behind them.   The more I watch the new season, the more it kinda strikes me that it may have improved a little as a reality TV show, but think without people like Simon to thin the herd, it's going to fall a little short on the "finding awesome talent" end of things.    However, even an Idol curmudgeon like myself got a little choked up with this guy's story.
