This Is The Cover Of Rihanna’s Eighth Studio Album (AKA #R8), Reportedly Titled ‘Anti’
So...okay, baby steps.
We might not have a release date
or a title just yet (actually, it seems we now have that — see below), but Rihanna's eighth studio album — code name #R8 — now has some rather regal, red artwork.
The braille-covered front and back designs, unveiled at the Mama Gallery in Los Angeles and designed by Roy Nachum, features either baby RiRi or her niece, complete with a crown on her head. (Heavy is the head that wears the crown, as her BFF Katy Perry might sing.)
The artwork is very similar to Nachum's other red-soaked works, which similarly feature children with their faces obscured. Considering the always artful Kanye West is executive producing this upcoming collection, it's no surprise that Rih went super artsy with this design.
Inside the gallery, the word "ANTI" is defined against a wall, leading many to believe this is indeed the title of R8.
"In her collaboration with Roy Nachum, Rihanna has changed the history of album art. By continuing to follow her own instincts, her work strives to make an impact by doing the very antithesis of what the public expects."
Um. The history of album art? Al...right. Once again, this release has Yeezy written all over it. Oof.
Are you ready for #R8 — err, ANTI? Sorry, dumb question. We've been waiting for three years and counting...
