If you weren't already convinced that Wyoming girls were tough, this 65 year old home movie should do the trick.

There's a YouTube channel that specializes in restoring 8 mm home movies. This share of a couple of Wyoming girls mounting a horse made me laugh out loud and proud at the same time.

According to the description, this gem was taken back in 1954. If I had to guess, I'd say these girls were maybe 2 or 3 years old, yet had no issues getting that horse to do what they wanted. The first girl made it up on the horse (barely) with the help of a really old style folding chair. Second sister followed and joined her sibling for a nice little ride around the corral.

As the father of 7, I wish I could tell you that I'm that trusting of my children's abilities that I would have allowed this, but probably not in a million years.

To give you an idea of what 1954 was like in case you weren't around yet, that was the year when the US tested a hydrogen bomb for the first time at Bikini Atoll and Elvis released his first song "That's Alright" as Wikipedia confirms.
