Casper Police are investigating an apparent suicide in a parking garage at the Wyoming Medical Center on Saturday, Police Lt. Richard Brown said Monday.

Police received a call about 2:30 pm., Brown said.

Upon arrival, officers found a man with blood on him on the third floor of the hospital's south parking garage, Brown said.

Officers cordoned off the area and found the unresponsive 50-year-old man. They determined he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound from a 9mm Hi-Point pistol, he said.

It was unclear how long he had been deceased when officers found him, possibly 10 to 20 minutes after he died, Brown said.

Officers conducted their investigation for two or three hours before clearing the scene, he said.

Police were able to locate a brother of the man. However, police are not releasing the name pending notification of family, Brown said.
