He brought you into this world, and he can take you out of it in a split second. Why not pay him some well deserved respect and get him something special for Father's Day? But how much should you spend? The National Retail Federation reports that most children will spend $117.14 on Father's Day gifts this year.  That's up 10% from last year.

Still a bit behind Mother's Day spending, which, on average is around $152 per person.  But it's getting slightly closer.

This Father's Day, an average 54% of people will buy a gift for their dad or stepdad . . . 29% will buy one for their husband . . . 10% will buy one for their sons . . . and 5% will buy one for their grandfather.
