Before he took the stage last night to sing to 300,000 fans in Mexico City, Justin Bieber flipped on his phone and recorded a personal message for his fans. He was feeling the love from his Beliebers and wanted to give it right back.

Bieber was very calm and deliberate as he spoke, claiming that while he never gets nervous, he was a little overwhelmed that so many people support him. He said, “I can’t say how thankful I am that each one of you care enough to write message to me on Twitter, to write when I get sick, when I get hurt, you guys are the first ones to be there for me. I feel a responsibility and I hope I’m there for you guys as much as you are there for me.”

He wasn’t kidding when he said he was right backstage — his message was interrupted at times by noise from backstage personnel and by cheers from the fans who had already gathered. He added, “You inspire me just as much as I inspire you. God has really blessed me and he’s given me this platform so I could do as much good as possible and sing my heart out to you.”

As reported by Idolator, after Bieber’s performance, he tweeted:

And we’re sure you already know this, but the ‘Believe’ album officially arrives on June 19, one week from today.
