Sugarhill Gang is bringing their 40th Anniversary World Tour to Cheyenne on Friday, September 20th.

Not only will Sugarhill Gang be there but they are bringing The Furious Fives' Grandmaster Melle Mel and Scorpio. The opening acts for the show will feature performers from 'Funeral Friday.' Funeral Friday is an outlet/platform for up-in-coming Hip Hop artists in the Cowboy State and the Rocky Mountain area. They have to submit their work to Presidential Studio in downtown Cheyenne, then if they are picked they will be recorded and put on Facebook as apart of the Funeral Friday series.

If you don't know who Sugarhill Gang is their song 'Rapper's Delight' was said for years to be the first-ever rap song. Although it wasn't the first-ever, it was the first-ever rap song to be introduced to a mainstream audience. They had a few other hits in their time but the one they are most recognized for is their 1979 hit 'Rapper's Delight.'

This will be another family-friendly event at West Edge. The street will be blocked off for the evening and it will be a night of what they are describing as " old-school hip-hop, good company, and good vibes.

Friday, September 20th from 6 pm to 10 pm, we will see you there.
