‘Stranger Things’ Kids Form Motown Singing Group… Sorta
This is one of the Stranger Things you'll ever see... or hear.
The Late Late Show With James Corden rolled out a terrific pre-taped bit on Wednesday night's episode (November 8). In the clip, viewers learn that before the kids of Stranger Things landed a gig on the smash Netflix series, they were in a Motown cover band with none other than James Corden.
In a bit right up Corden's alley—marrying his love of comedy, music and pop culture—the skit features him taking some lighthearted digs at his Motown persona as we see the rise and fall of The Upside Downs.
We also learn how being in The Upside Downs led to Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin and Noah Schnapp getting cast on Stranger Things, while Corden failed to nab the role of Eleven.
The piece ends with the band reuniting for a stirring live performance where they sing a medley of Motown classics. Watch up top.
