If you listen to us regularly you know that driving is not my strong point.

The other day it became glaringly obvious to me that I am a menace to Casper not only in parking lots but at four-way stops as well.

This also stretches to "the" four-way stop in Glenrock, where the actual "incident" occurred.

I didn't cause an accident but I have to apologize to my community members that were forced to wave frantically at me, and do the whole awkward start, stop, start, stop thing.

While I didn't hear any swearing I would guess that there were maybe a few choice words coming out of their mouths.

In my defense, it's a 3 lane four-way stop (two driving lanes and a turn lane) and the car next to me was also going straight AND arrived at the stop sign at the exact same time as me.

What WAS I supposed to do?!

I made a public apology on my Facebook page because I was so mortified at my inability to navigate the four-way stop...and this was not my first time struggling.

BTW my father commented on my post that he DID teach me the appropriate way to navigate a four-way stop, and I know he did, but somewhere along the way I forgot it all.

Thanks to google I found more than a few sites that were happy to teach me the correct way to handle a four-way stop.

AND according to this article, I DID do the correct thing the other day in Glenrock...

If two vehicles come to a stop at the four-way stop at the same time and are side-by-side, the right-of-way goes to the person who is on the right. If you are on the left, yield to the other driver and then proceed through the intersection before anyone else who has arrived at the intersection.

Except, I then had the two other cars across from me and to the right of me go before I did.

Sigh.

I'll try and do better...but if you see the ghetto truck pulling up to a four-way stop, I'm sorry for whatever may happen next.
