Natrona County law enforcement agencies teamed up with a goal of reducing fatal crashes over Super Bowl weekend, making nine DUI arrests over the course of the three-day operation.

During Feb. 2-4, officers made 233 traffic stops and issued 22 speeding tickets, nine seat belt citations, 42 other citations and 94 warnings.

No traffic deaths were reported in Natrona County over that weekend.

It was a county-wide, multi-agency traffic enforcement operation -- the second of six planned for Natrona County this year. The next such operation is set for St. Patrick's Day weekend.

Participating law enforcement agencies included the Wyoming Highway Patrol, Casper Police Department, Natrona County Sheriff's Office, Mills Police Department and the Evansville Police Department.

Wyoming Medical Injury Prevention Traffic Safety and the Wyoming Department of Transportation also partnered in the campaign, according to a news release from WYDOT's Jeff Goetz.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol continues to urge drivers to keep impaired drivers off of roadways across the state by calling the Report Every Drunk Driver Immediately (REDDI) hotline at 800-442-9090.

Callers who wish to report drunk drivers should be able to provide a description of the suspect vehicle, its location and direction of travel.
