It’s almost time to head inside for the winter…  What will you be doing in your free time?  The Recreation Center is offering a number of drop-in sports for all ages.  Drop-in times are a great opportunity to have fun, meet some new people, and get some exercise while having fun.  Drop-in times will be available this fall and winter for Pickleball, basketball and volleyball.

Pickleball is a game played on a badminton court with the net lowered to 34 inches at the center. It is played with a perforated plastic baseball (similar to a whiffle ball) and wood or composite paddles. Pickleball is easy to learn and will quickly grow into a fast-paced, competitive, and fun game! Pickleball is also played in the Wyoming Senior Olympics that will be held here in Casper in July 2013.  Drop-in Pickleball is held Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 10:00-11:00 am.

Drop-in basketball times are available most weekdays before 5:00 pm, on Saturdays from 1:00-5:00 pm, and on Sundays from 1:00-4:00 pm.

Drop-in volleyball is held on Saturdays from 5:00-8:00 pm and Sundays from 4:00-7:00 pm.

Admission to drop-in programs is $3.50 per day, which includes use of the Rec Center, and is free for those with a Rec Center membership.  All equipment for drop-in sports is available for loan at the Rec Center front desk.

The Casper Recreation Center is always offering a number of programs for youth, adults, and seniors.  For further information, please call the Casper Recreation Center at 235-8383, stop by 1801 E. 4th Street, or visit us online at www.casperwy.gov<http://www.casperwy.gov>.  Online registration is available at www.activecasper.com.
